Project goals and objective
The project's core objective is to improve the current Ontrack portal by seamlessly integrating live learning courses with the existing module-based courses platform. Navigational challenges within the current portal have resulted in diminished student engagement, highlighting the need for enhancements. In addition to updating the student portal, addressing issues within the administrative portal is imperative.
Solution and impact
At each phase, conducting usability testing proved invaluable in gaining insights into the mindset and ease of use for students in the 9th-12th grade age range. By observing how students interacted with the current platform and documenting pain points, we identified areas for improvement.
Additionally, user interviews provided further understanding of their needs and preferences. The redesign began with a creative content switcher between live learning and module-based platforms. Subsequently, through collaborative brainstorming sessions and further usability testing, the decision was made to merge both concepts. As of now, the portal is actively in the development phase, with the aim of creating a seamless and engaging experience for students and administrators alike.
